The BBC broadcast Andrew Marr: My Brain and Me on BBC2 in February 2017. This is a candid video of Andrew with his good friend Xandra. Seeing how committed Andrew was to getting himself better she offered the use of a spare room in her house which Andrew quickly made into his studio.
In this short clip from the programme you can see many of the paintings which would eventually appear in Andrew's first solo show, 'Strokes of Colour' at the Corke Gallery in Liverpool.
I love this because its uplifting and watching Andrew panic when Xandra starts getting paintings out which had been put right at the back so they could not be seen is hilarious. Xandra boldly reaches right to the back of the stacks of paintings and lifts them up to the camera whilst Andrew looks on, unable to stop them being shown.
